DUP leader election
We are told that 75 percent of DUP MLAs and MPS back Mrs Foster for leader. However that is not a unanimous endorsement. All paid up members of the DUP should be given a vote. There should be a choice. If there was a choice between two candidates the result could be entirely different. Many unionist voters regard their parliament as Westminster and not Stormont. If the new DUP leader is a Stormont MLA it will give a UK party like UKIP a boost in the May Stormont election. Also some christians in the DUP will not be happy about having a woman as leader.
